Menstrual Wisdom & Womb Care with Ayurveda | Nidhi Pandya #063

Vital Veda Podcast Banner

Ancient women honoured the menstrual blood as the essential life generating material willed by Mother Moon to cleanse and purify their inherited Shakti energy so that new and fragrant life could blossom.

Ancient wisdom for a healthy menstrual cycle and caring for the wombs of all women on earth: the seat of creative intelligence in all areas of life.

About Our Guest: Nidhi Pandya

Nidhi Pandya is a New York based third generation Ayurvedic practitioner working globally. She was indoctrinated into Ayurveda at birth, as her grandfather was an Ayurvedic healer.
In 2002, she founded a value development school called Vyaktitiva to counsel young adolescents and help them find purpose in whatever they do.
Now, she is a practitioner, blogger, educator and a faculty at the Shakti School of Ayurveda.
Wellness to Nidhi means aligning your body and mind to only consume what nourishes you on both levels. This can only happen when you truly understand your body and are able to tune in to your mind.

Nidhi Pandya
After an in depth study of the scriptures and contemplation, Nidhi came to the conclusion that the ecosystem of the human body is warm and moist. Any deviation from this climate leads to imbalance. She therefore teaches people how to understand this climate; what may take it off balance, and how to bring it back to homeostasis.

In this Episode we Discuss:

Nidhi's Daily Routine (Dinacharya)

How Nidhi's relationship with Ayurveda originated

Being raised within a family of Ayurveic Healers in Mumbai, India.
Moving to New York and realizing the practice of Ayurveda is her true calling.
Eventually practicing and teaching all over the world.

An introduction into the wonderful power behind menstruation

One of Dylan’s first lessons in his Ayurvedic journey was that one of the greatest blessings a woman has is her menstruation - the cleansing and purification of her Shakti (divine feminine energy).

The wisdom of the menstrual cycle

A woman has the capacity to be a fertile ground - taking the potential that lies within the seed and with her Shakti creating something much bigger and powerful.
The many variables that play a role in the preservation of this fertile ground that is the female reproductive system.
The female cycles affecting the doshas and the entirety of the female physiology.
Why the menstrual cycle is fundamental for the preservation of female fertility.
How a woman deals with her menstrual cycle determining how she will reach menopause later in life
The menstrual cycle and the preservation of fertility not only being linked to the capacity to birth children but also to the essential qualities of Shakti - birthing creativity and individual expression in the world.
Lowe half of a female body with the vagina covered by a plant

Menstrual phases according to Ayurveda

1. When a woman has had her period then the body enters the Kapha phase - it starts to build the structure needed to initiate conception (thickening of the lining and building of the fluids) in case a sperm cell happens to be invited into the womb any time soon.
2. When ovulating the woman undergoes the Pitta phase - the phase of transformation that allows for the sperm cell to fuse with the female egg and transform that into a Zygote.
  • During this phase temperatures increase inside the womb to the optimum levels for that transformation to take place.
  • The enkindling of that reproductive agni (fire) also leads to an increased libido.
Diagram of the dosas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha)
3. If fertilization doesn’t occur during the previous phase then the woman enters the Vata phase - the decline. Here the body realizes the structures it has created were not used and therefore destroys them in order to be able to create the optimum conditions again in the future.
      • The wind/air element in ayurveda is that which destroys - so it’s like a little tornado charged with heat hits these structures and then the lining is destroyed and everything is pushed downwards through a period.

Ayurvedic Protocols for menstruation

It is of upmost importance during this phase to ground the vata:
  • Very important to avoid exercising, since that wind element will be scattered throughout the body by excessive movement and the cleansing will not properly take place.
  • Allow yourself to rest; not excessive napping, but slow down.
      • Try not to use your mind as much - avoid studying, overthinking and stress since that will move the Prana (life force) upward instead of downward.
  • Eat cooling and grounding foods like rice-based dishes, milk (can be warm due to its nourishing properties) and coconut-based dishes.
  • Avoid hot foods like eggplant, tomatoes, and excessively spicy foods. Also excessively cold foods and raw foods since all of these will only increase that which you are already feeling.
Melting Strawberry ice cream
  • Mainly eat easy-to-digest foods since that will allow for the blood to concentrate in the pelvic floor and to enliven the cleansing process instead of being massively sent upwards to the digestive system in order to take care of a heavy meal.
  • Generally, any foods that balance out the dry and hot qualities of this period will promote wellbeing.
  • Sleeping the closer you possibly can to the earth - this is a grounding technique.
      • Traditionally a grass bed has been used so that a degree of comfort is there, while still being as close to the ground as possible.
By following these easy protocols many women that had lost their fertility (in terms of having regular periods) have successfully regained it.
Copulation or engaging in any sexual activity is contraindicated during this period.
Women in their menstrual period should try and avoid cooking for two main reasons:
  • Rest should be primordial during this time.
  • There is a special warmth and sliminess women experience during their period that needs to be preserved. When physically interacting with food, these properties are going to embed themselves into the food and affect its properties & qualities.
      • Test this yourself: buy organic rice, handle it with your bare hands and leave it to rest. In a short period of time you’ll see some of the rice grains will hatch.
When on their menstrual periods, women should avoid visiting the temple and the chanting of mantras
  • All mantras carry a specific energy - some are more heating and some are more cooling. This energy will surely affect the temperature within your body and that will alter the inner body chemistry and possibly trigger certain undesired consequences.
  • Spiritual practices imply the upward movement of the subtle Prana & the subtle vayu (wind), which allows for the elevation of the soul within the individual.
    • But during this period of menstruation, you are not supposed to be working on the upward movement of the subtle prana but instead the gross body is working on the downward movement of Prana/Vayu

Avoid bathing, Abhyanga and any other activities that stimulate several parts of your body
  • They are naturally vata aggravating → they’ll send that wind to all directions within the body.

Menstrual Pain

If you are properly taking care of your body health having menstrual pain shouldn’t be normal; there shouldn’t be any. Only heightened sensitivity should be present.
  • The pain is an indication of imbalance.
Three main causes of cramps:
  • A too sluggish environment that is not allowing for the vayu (wind) to move freely
  • Too much movement that leads to excess wind aggravation that in turn causes vayu to go to undesired parts of your body (a part of your back, cervix, pelvis, etc.) and generate cramping.
  • Excess heat and inflammation due to an over-enlivened agni usually caused by an improper diet
What a woman does between two cycles is also of relevance.
  • The menstrual cycle is there to cleanse, so if there’s a lot to cleanse then the period will take rougher qualities; but if women take proper care of themselves then there will be less to cleanse and the period will be painless (that’s how it naturally should be).

Menarche

It is the first occurrence of menstruation
The first 13 years of life are of assimilation - both physically and mentally.
  • The exponential expansion, growth and maturity of a woman’s physiology.
  • The various types of learning and creation of memories and an individual psyche.
When menarche arrives, that’s when heat increases in the body and the transformation phase begins.
  • The fire sets in and all of that which was assembled in the previous 13 years is taken into action, into creation - that is the rise and amplification of Shakti (divine feminine energy).
Ayurvedic tradition:
During the first 12 days the girl goes through a very introspective process, either with an elder-woman or alone. On the 13th day there is a celebration honouring the blossoming of this bud.
A turmeric paste is made and spread all over the body to maintain the menstrual heat and to further purify.
How parents should address their children’s needs and educate them during menarche:
It is important that the communication is good with their children and that they clearly educate them as to what is helpful and what is not; what enlivens their health and what will act as a detriment to it.
Making these things clear early in life is better than having to fight these battles later, when non-healthy habits have already been assimilated as “normal” and the consequences start to appear (missed periods, acne, PCOS [PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome], etc.).

Menopause

Menopause is supposed to be asymptomatic
The degree to which you have honoured your periods will determine how rough or mild your menopause will be.

Ovulation Pain

Pain during the ovulation is very often related to low digestive fire. When that digestive agni is debilitated, ama (toxic undigested waste) is created and it blocks the tiny channels within the reproductive system. That blockages will not allow for the prana vayu to flow freely.
To dissolve this ama you can do several things: a good body cleanse, panchakarma (Ayurvedic cleanse composed of five separate procedures), eating light foods, Laṅghana (Ayurvedic deprivation therapy) and fasting.

Piercings according to Hindu Tradition

Piercings are usually put in stimulating points called marmas. These points are related to different parts/systems within the body.
Ear piercings are traditionally done when the child is 6 to 8 months old and they support brain health.
The nose piercing (particularly on the left nostril) has more to do with menstrual and reproductive health. For women suffering from pms and other menstrual issues, this is the piercing you should consider.
  • There is a particular point within the left nostril that is the most auspicious and effective for this cause. It is believed that if done right and in precisely the right place, the piercing will not get infected.

Other tips and insights that can help with female reproductive health

Warm Castor Oil applied on the lower abdomen and pelvic region will allow for Prana Vayu to be invited downwards with ease.
  • It is also recommended for women right after they give birth.
Organic Tampons dipped in Oil - preferably Dhanvantaram Tailam - are very good especially for older women that are already experiencing dryness in their vaginas.
  • You can even do it once a month and wear it for 2-3 hours and that will help strengthen the whole vaginal environment
  • Our Yoni Ghee or Special Phala Ghee are also very good and can be used in the same manner and for the same purpose.
  • The more frequently you apply them the better.
Yoni Ghee
Avoid harsh diets and raw foods while on your period since they enhance the menstrual cramps and related pains.
Wearing white and smelling jasmine aroma are recommended ayurvedic practices for women on their periods.

Shedding Spike Proteins Cvd Vx((een | Stephanie Grutz #061

Vital Veda Podcast Banner
An all inclusive discussion about the potential shedding of spike proteins that are generated by the body after receiving the CvD Vx((een.

These proteins may be what is causing the adverse health effects being reported by many of those who don’t receive the vx((een, but simply are around those who have.

- What are spike proteins?
- How are they being transmitted?
- How can we detox and overcome side effects after receiving the vx((een?
- What precautions should we take to prevent transmission?
- How can we prevent receiving spike proteins and the adverse effects?
- Why are so many women having hormonal and gynaecological imbalances after being around others who have had the vx((een?

About Our Guest: Stephanie Gurtz

Stephanie is an integrative nurse practitioner with over 12 years in the field of medicine.
In 2009, Stephanie was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and eventually diagnosed with Crohn's. She started down a path of biologics and steroids with deteriorating health. As she desperately searched for answers, she stumbled upon integrative medicine. She went all in, changed her mind, body and spirit and started treating herself holistically. Since 2014, Stephanie has been using her skills and experiences to help empower others to work towards their healthiest selves.
I chose once again Stephanie to be on this podcast because of her extensive, non-biased independent research on the C19 vx((een.

In this Episode we Discuss:

Stephanie's Daily Routine (Dinacharya)

Stephanie’s medical background and why she turned to integrative/holistic medicine

Becoming a certified nurse and going through all of the western medicine paradigm.
Being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in her twenties and looking for alternatives to the life-time use of immunosuppressants.
Going through a consciousness shift that affected her entire life and eventually healed her condition.
Developing an integrative practice in which she provides a range of services that allows for people to detox their bodies.

Spike proteins

Spike proteins essentially are what our body manufactures after receiving the vx((een.
The members of the coronavirus family have these sharp bumps - or little crowns - that protrude, these are spike proteins.
These proteins act as the key to the lock that is our immune system, they allow the virus to enter certain cells and start the self-replication that will lead to our bodies getting sick.
Ficus Religiosa Trees
Coronavirus (the red "crowns" are the Spike Proteins)
The idea behind the vx((eens is that when these spike proteins are introduced into our bodies, they will make our bodies create synthetic proteins of the same nature. Therefore, if and when the wild exterior coronavirus enters our bodies, these synthetic spike proteins that our bodies have already developed will help fight back against the infection.
Dr. Lee Makowski - from North Eastern University - published a hypothesis in the journal of viruses saying that the spike protein in the wild coronavirus might mimic proteins that, amongst other things, regulate blood vessels and the formation of blood clots
  • That spike proteins we are making via contact with the virus or vx((een are mimicking proteins that regulate other cellular structures in our body.
    • It is for that reason that these proteins wreak havoc in our bodies and trigger certain responses that might not have been foreseeable by those that do not have a complete understanding of these spike proteins and the role they play in both the wild virus and vx((eens.

The effects caused by the shedding of spike proteins

Several cases of women bleeding during very extended periods of time (3-6 weeks), others bleed with heavy clotting & what they call “tissues”, others don’t bleed at all
Some menopausal women suddenly started bleeding again
Pregnancies that became severely compromised and ended in miscarriages - women's hormonal system is very delicate. To get pregnant and stay pregnant is an enormously complex system. We know that that the spike protein antibody cross-reacts with Cinsiden 1 and 2 - proteins absolutely essential for the placenta, for fertilization and maintaining a pregnancy
Some men have been experiencing blood clots, scrotum & prostate swelling
Stephanie’s Crohn's disease started to flare up after several years of not presenting any issues, just after attending a venue with a high concentration of vaccinated people.

Information from the inside

One of the founders of the mRNA technology (which is used for Pfizer and Moderna vx((eens) - Luigy Warren- tweeted:The vx((een shedding of the spike proteins is real. But it is occurring in small amounts that is mostly not harmful.”.
Later twitter suspended his account saying it was alleged “fake news” - another example of censorship by Big Media in the pursuit of a political agenda.
Warren then put out a statement saying: “The tweet you locked me out for is correct. I am the inventor of the technology of which Moderna was founded. Look it up. I think I know what I am talking about.”

How can this shedding be transmitted and assimilated by others

The hypothesis is that it can be airborne, saliva, urine, seminal fluid, feces and possibly even flatus transmitted.
Given that proper scientific studies haven’t been performed yet, this is mostly speculation based on the lived experiences of those who come forward with stories related to this topic.

How should we protect ourselves (both the vaccinated and unvaccinated)

What is fundamental is to strengthen your immune system
If you have had the vx((een, a bit of body cleansing/detox is also very recommended.
Intermitent fasting:
It is one of the most powerful interventions for overall health. It really helps detox the whole body.
Intermittent fasting is very helpful in triggering autophagy, which is the body's way of cleaning out damaged cells in order to regenerate newer, healthier ones.
Ayurveda considers intermittent fasting to be “the supreme medicine”.
If you want to take fasting seriously then consult a practitioner and make sure you are guided through it, it is a tremendously powerful and yet delicate process. It needs to be done the right way.
Not recommended for those who are excessively losing weight or suffering any sort of anemia. Pregnant women should also abstain from fasting.
Sauna:
Sauna allows for deep sweating which helps in the detoxification of the body.
If a sauna is accessible to you, doing it 3-5 times a week is recommended.
Get in the Sun:
Vitamin D strengthens your immune system, it heals and supports all areas of your body.
Vitamin D obtained naturally from the sun is much more powerful than what any supplement can provide
Side-note: sunbathing the soft tissue areas of your privates (testicles and breasts) is very helpful to deal with cancer’s that are lodged nearby. Sunlight triggers the production of healing hormones and allows for the creation of a protective layer.
Get your lymph moving:
These spike proteins - and any viruses for that matter - tend to go and lodge in the lymph because it is responsible for removing toxins.
A lot of times the lymph system gets sluggish and doesn’t move much. Therefore:
Doing lymph massage, vibration plates, dry brushing, yoga (even deep belly breath only), self-oil massage (Abhyanga)
Do Nasya every day (along with Abhyanga):

Nasya is the practice of sniffing a drop of ayurvedic medicated nasal oil (Nasika) up your nose.

The nose is the gateway to the skull, so it creates a coating in the nasal passages so that toxins, environmental pollutants, viruses, pathogens and bacteria don’t get in.

Things that you can internally take:
Dandelion Tea - Is an excellent source of potassium. Potassium helps the kidney filter toxins more effectively and improves blood flow. The polysaccharides in dandelion are known to reduce stress on the liver and support its ability to produce bile.
Fulvic acid - is believed to help block reactions in the body that cause allergy symptoms. It also seems to have anti-inflammatory properties along with immune-stimulating and antioxidant effects.
Smriti herb - "smriti" in sanskrit means memory. This powerful herb helps enliven the genetic memory within the body that promotes the appropriate functioning of all organ systems and propitiates intense healing.

In this Episode we Discuss:

The Epidemic of Infertility

The Australian Department of Health reports 1 in every 6 Australian couples suffers from fertility problems, which they attribute to the decision to have children later in life as well as declining sperm count.

According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 10 percent, or 6.1 million, women in the United States have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant each year.

Male Infertility Epidemic

According to the largest and most comprehensive meta-analysis of its kind published in August 2017, sperm counts around the world declined by more than 50% between 1973 and 2013, and continue to shrink.

Fertility is not just about having a child, it’s a by-product of good health.

Ayurveda doesn't consider fertility to be just a matter of procreation but a matter of enlivening creative intelligence within the body which becomes manifest in many ways that transcend one's capacity to reproduce.

Re-identifying the role of a woman to benefit the women

The Misaligned Superwoman

  • The challenge to harmonise between the divine masculine and the divine feminine in the workplace.
  • Excess androgens (male hormones) in woman.
  • Women want success financially and in their job, but they are less successful at making babies.
  • Controlling a time to have a child.
  • Intellectual mind dominating the primal mind.
  • PCOS - excess androgens.

The Trend of Having Children Later In Life

Although we are extending our longevity as a species, we are not extending the age of our fertile window.

The Physical Benefits of Having a Child in Earlier Years

Freezing Eggs

Your Eggs Are In Your Grandmother / You (Woman) Are Born Containing Your Grandaughter

  • Modern science says that all your eggs in your ovaries. All of them.
  • You don’t grow new ones in your life.
  • While your mother was growing within your grandmother, you were one of the follicles in her teeny tiny ovaries.
  • Ovarian Follicle - secretes hormones and has the potential to develop into healthy eggs that could be available for a future baby.
  • This oocyte may undergo divisions to form an ovum - a mature female reproductive cell, which can give rise to an embryo, usually only after fertilisation by a male cell.

If you are pregnant right now with a girl, you are carrying your daughter AND your future grandchild.

This is bija dosha - and why consciousness conception ie. preconception health is so important for your future generations (plural).

Don’t let the man off the hook either.

Smriti

Ayurveda considers this herbal formula to be particularly efficient at enlivening cellular memory of perfect health, enhancing health at a quantum level and hence in many cases increasing fertility.

Sex During The Menstrual Period

  • According to Ayurveda this is the most inauspicious thing one can do and it will severely compromise fertility.
  • Blocking the pathway and blocking the cleansing.
  • Reversing the flow towards upwards.
  • Reversing the energy.

Deep respect and honour for the very special event that is the menstrual cycle

Ayurveda states that honoring the menstrual cycle is fundamental to promote overall health and enliven your fertility.

Essential Elements for Conception

The intersection between Ayurveda and fertility: Garbha Sambhava Samagri

The “Fetus forming ingredients”

  1. Rtu - ideal season, in terms of fertile period in a woman. Ideal climate in the garbhashaya (uterus and fallopian tubes) for the sperm to fertilise the ovum.
    • Sperm should enter the uterus a couple of days before ovulation. Ovulation is the release of egg or ovum from the ovary in woman.
    • Dvadasaratram: Day 12 when artava is manifested. Days 12-16 (fertile period) is the ideal kala for conception.
    • If not fertilised, the ovum gets distorted.
    • As lotus flower closes positively when the day is over, a woman's uterus contracts after the period of conception is over (thus, does not receive the seed).” S.S. Sarira Sthana, Ch 2.
  2. Kshetra - Fertile land. Mother. Healthy womb (uterus).
    • Good land for implantation to occurs. Implantation: the ovum which is coming towards to uterus following ovulation meets the sperm. Then fertilisation occurs. The fertilised ovum (sukra shonita) now comes into the uterine cavity and gets adhered in to the wall of the uterus.
    • Now, uterus is home for the garbha and growing foetus until it gets matured until delivery.  The first home of all living beings.
    • Treat diseases related to the uterus before conception so a healthy women allows for proper implantation.
  3. Ambu - Proper water supply for the land.
    • Rasa dhatu to supply nutrient for the foetus.
    • To create this: PK, shodana, nasika, pranayama, asana, ensuring spine is in good position always.
    • If this rasa to the garbha is cut off, the foetus doesn’t grow properly or one can find stunted growth or mal-formation.
    • Foetal circulation - the exchange centre of the two bloods of mother and foetus is the Jarayu (placenta). The circulation takes place trough the blood vessels of the mother drain and receiving through the umbilical cord of the foetus (nahbi) via the umbilical cord.
  4. Bija - healthy seed.

Ojas: Invigorate Your Vitality

According to Ayurveda, there is a special substance in the body that governs ageing, immunity, vigour, reproduction, mood, sleep, radiant skin, digestion, spirituality and physical strength. This substance is called ojas (OH-jas).

Ojas is a bio-celestial liquid substance that predominantly dwells in the heart and also circulates everywhere throughout the body to maintain life activities.

It is soft and pure, the colour of ghee (initially) and tastes like honey.

It is the first essential element of the embryo, the most refined by-product of digestion, and the physiological expression of pure consciousness. Hence, ojas is strongly linked to spiritual and emotional wellbeing.

It is the chief fluid material of the body on which life depends.

If ojas is destroyed, the human being will also perish. If ojas is healthy the human is kept happy and healthy.

The 10 Qualities of Ojas

  1. Madhura (Sweet)
  2. Sheeta (Cold) - A pleasant cold like the full moon. Oja Soma Atmakam.” (see below)
  3. Mridu (Soft)
  4. Snigdha (Unctuousness)
  5. Sandra (Density)
  6. Shalakshna (Smoothness)
  7. Picheel (Slimy)
  8. Guru (Heavy)
  9. Sthira (Stable)
  10. Prasanna (Clarity) - freedom of all defects.

Interestingly, milk is comprised of the same 10 qualities. Thus, milk is an excellent elixir and ojas enhancer.

"Oja" = Pleasant.
"Soma" = Moon that flows consciousness.
"Atmakam" = energy field.

"Oja Soma Atmakam" = The moon that flows pleasantness to those in it's field of horizon.

Two Types of Ojas

1. Superior Ojas (Para Ojas)

  • Eight drops[1] in quantity. Fixed volume. Any diminution in the volume would amount to instantaneous death.
  • Site: Dwells in the heart.

2. Ordinary Ojas (Apara Ojas)

  • Half an anjali (ardhanjali) in quantity. (One anjali represents the volume equal to that of two hands joined in the form of a cup).
  • Site: The vessels attached to the heart and circulates all over the body along with plasma and blood to provide physical strength and immunity to resist disease.
  • The substance is similar to that of Kapha (Sarira 7:15).
  • Diminution is possible, as in cause of diabetes mellitus.

Activities That Increase Ojas

  • Loving others.
  • Laughing.
  • Performing activities that you are passionate about.
  • Giving and serving others unconditionally.
  • Yoga and breathing (pranayama).
  • Meditation
  • Being in nature.
  • Proper sleep (bed before 9.30/10pm, up with the sun. Sleeping amongst minimal EMF exposure).
  • Eating fresh whole-foods in a relaxed manner.

Eat Ojas Increasing Foods

“The root of living being, strength, complexion and ojas is diet.”
Susruta Samhita, Sutrasthana

Building Ojas is an art. Perhaps one of the best ways to consistently build Ojas is to eat a diet of fresh unprocessed, seasonal whole foods, and have a balanced agni to support the process. A handful of special foods even metabolise to nourish and build Ojas directly, fast-tracking the tissue metabolism process.

Activities that Reduce Ojas

  • Anger
  • Hunger - can include fasting for over one day.
  • Worry and stress.
  • Grief
  • Physical exertion - Includes over-exercising. Not taking days to rebuild. Excessive mouth breathing during exercise.
  • Masturbation.
  • Excessive sex both in sperm and ovum (daily for extended periods of time and considering the season and age).

Results of Decreased Ojas

  • Increase of fear, particularly related to loss of life (all fear essentially is the fear of death. Even little fears of unfulfilled desires, “my body only lasts a certain time, and my checklist is not getting ticketed before the big deadline”).
  • Debility.
  • Unstable mind and mental disturbances including excess worry and anxiety.
  • Discomfort in the sense organs including pain.
  • Bad complexion.
  • Dryness, roughness and emaciation of the body.

How the Body Makes Ojas

Kedarikulyanyaya: The Law of Transmission

According to Ayurveda, the entire digestive process takes 30 days[2] to complete. Nutrients from food (known as aharasa) are used to build the 7 major tissues (dhatus) of the body. The culmination of this transmutative process is the production of ojas. However, as mentioned, many factors exist that can compromise or block its production.

Here is how it is made, step-by-step:

Step 1: Healthy, wholesome, unprocessed food is ingested. The coordinated efforts of the stomach, pancreas, and liver/gallbladder (jathara agni) prepare the food to be assimilated. Nutrients are drawn out of the food to produce the first product of digestion, a nutrient fluid called rasa.

Rasa is the first of the seven major tissues of the body. It can be likened to plasma/lymph. A small amount of ordinary ojas is released into rasa, while the gradual process of building supreme ojas begins.

Step 2: The rasa or first product of digestion is converted by enzymes (agni) —into blood, which in Ayurveda, is called rakta. Here, another small amount of ordinary ojas is released into the blood. This process of transmission can take 5 -7 days.[2][3]

Step 3: The rakta or blood converts into muscle or mamsa with the help of blood-based enzymes. A small amount of ordinary ojas is released into the muscles.

Step 4: The mamsa converts into fat or medha with the help of muscle enzymes, and releases a small amount of ordinary ojas into the fat.

Step 5: The medha or fat  converts to bone or asthi, and releases a small amount of ordinary ojas into the bone.

Step 6: The asthi or bone converts to nerve tissue or majja, and releases a small amount of ordinary ojas into the nervous system/bone marrow.

Step 7: The majja or nerve tissue converts into the reproductive fluid, where a small amount of ojas is released into the sperm or ovum. Remember, supreme ojas has been building with the production of each tissue, making the reproductive fluid the bodily tissue with the most accumulated ojas.

Step 8: The final product, supreme ojas, is released and stored in the heart. From there, it nourishes the subtle energy in the body which, in turn, feeds the body’s vigour, vitality, and immunity.

How the Seven Body Tissues Can Deplete Ojas

When one of the tissues are vitiated, it will disrupt the transmissive process, depriving the body of ojas.

Rasa (lymph) - Stress releases stress-fighting hormones that have acidic waste products. Excess acidity causes lymphatic congestion.
De-stress and improve lymphatic drainage with self-abhyanbga.

Rakta (blood) - Inflamed and toxic blood carries damaging, inflammatory and degenerative chemicals throughout the body.
Liberate toxic blood with Raktamokshana.

Mamsa (muscle) - excessive exercise and exhaustion can deplete ojas.
Restore muscle tissue with abhyanga.

Medha (fat) - excess stress can hamper adipose circulation, leaving no nutrient for ojas. Most toxic chemicals are fat-soluble, hence are stored in the fat in times of stress.
Increase fat metabolism with the Vital Short Home Cleanse.

Asthi (bone) - Chronic issues such as osteopenia and osteoporosis can deplete ojas. These conditions can be caused by stress, lack of vitamin D and sunlight, poor ability to absorb vitamins, minerals and light frequencies.
Enhance your ability to absorb Vitamin D by improving your skin physiology with self-abhyanga.

Majja (bone marrow and the nervous system) - Stress and excessive activities stimulates the release of degenerative hormones which accelerate ageing, invite chronic disease, fatigue, sleep issues, and much more.
De-stress with Vedic Meditation.

Shukra (reproductive fluid) -  Excessive and untimely sex and masturbation will deplete this precious substance.
Rebuild with nourishing rasayanas and golden milk elixir.
